Do You Think You Can or Not?

7 May, 2021

PERHAPS you have seen this image somewhere before or maybe not.

I’m sure you will agree from the start of this post that specific words and phrases can have different meaning to different people.

Located inside the Sunderland AFC home dressing room is the above picture, taken by myself, which was installed by Roy Keane during his tenure as club manager.

Throughout his football career, Keane hated losing and mental toughness was a huge part of what he was about.

You can motivate people at will using the right words at the right time.

The attached image is something EVERY person inside the Sunderland AFC dressing room would have to walk pass every time before battle.

Keane was once quoted saying, “A game of football can be won or lost in the mind even before a ball is kicked.”

And this inspirational image is not just about football or sport or even business …

It’s about you, me and everyday general life.

A human fact, is that we can change our state of mind momentarily, based upon how we are thinking specifically and where we align our focus.

Now, Stop! …

Read ALL of those words on the attached image and consider these three questions:

What can you learn that could be really useful in your life from now?

How did you feel when you were reading the words?

Think about what you do in your personal and professional life – How important is it for you to be in the right state of mind?
